Giant Pumpkin 2013

We have come to the end of our journey with our giant pumpkin and here is a video showing all the activities from the carnival. Thanks to Leonie Pearson for the amazing video.







Well the pumpkin plant is making a bit of a comeback! A week ago I was unsure that it would make it to the competition, but in the last few days I have noticed new growth and even new pumpkins!!
However... new pumpkins is not the greatest thing so we will need to trim a few back starting this week so the plant can focus its energy on our good looking beast of a pumpkin.
Also Waikato Times will be coming to photograph the children with the pumpkin after the easter weekend.

Hi everybody,
As you know we have been growing a giant pumpkin this season and it has gone surprisingly well. The kids have been really good at looking after our beast of a pumpkin. On Tuesday we had two officials from the giant pumpkin organisation come to see us. They said we should enter in the 'schools' category at the Great Pumpkin Carnival. This is held at the Hamilton Gardens On the 7th of April.
What I am looking for here is an indication of interest. If you are keen to come along and support us then leave a comment. Ill also send a note home in a week or two just to check.

    Wow room six, your giant pumpkin looks amazing! Well done for taking such good care of it. It would be great to go to the great pumpkin carnival and see how you do in the competition.

    This look really fun - what an awesome pumpkin - great job Rm 6! I would love to come along to the carnival with you...I've never been to a pumpkin carnival before - how neat!

      Thanks Leonie, I think we have Mr Fitness roped in who has a trailer we can use. I will keep you in mind though.
